The Last of the Concrete Footings Poured

 Today, they poured the footings for the steel supports for the wall and roof and located the metal plates in the footings that will anchor the steel support beams. They also took off the wood framing for the footings and have started to backfill dirt next to the footings. Next up this week is the plumber locating the grease trap for the kitchen and the kitchen and bathroom drains.

Sunday Focus at Church - January 29 & Building Update

     This Sunday we will celebrate Sanctity of Life Sunday with a baby dedication. What better way to celebrate life  than to have a baby dedication!
     The sermon will hit home to a number of Christians who are living with a nonbelieving spouse. I will talk about how to help you if you are one of many whose spouse does not yet believe. We also will have our talented youth lead our worship music time.
     Building-wise, we were not able to pour concrete yesterday because of the rain. The repour is slated for Monday.
     You might have noticed the ceiling of our lobby taken apart. If you look closely (see a couple of pictures below) you will see that we have covered over what used to be the windows of the old sanctuary. These have been a major source of noise leaking through into the lobby and lounge. We covered them with insulation and sheet rock. I hope those of you who use the lounge will hear less noise now!

Today they poured the foundations for the building. Tomorrow will complete the concrete foundation pours. One more pour to go next week for the slabs.

We have completed the demo of the front entrance and canopy, dug the footings and are ready to pour the concrete tomorrow.
